This app is a reader over other people's data. It draws no boundary of its own and names no officeholder it cannot cite, so the useful question about any answer it gives is who published this, and when. That is what this page is for: the publishers the app credits as a whole, then one row per layer naming the source behind that layer specifically.
Data last verified: October 9, 2026
Where a source publishes nothing, the app says so rather than guessing — the missing-data panel on the map is the standing list of what nobody publishes yet, and what would close each gap.
This page says where each answer comes from today.
Who publishes the data
The upstream publishers this app depends on, across all layers. Per-layer provenance is in the matrix below.
- U.S. Census Bureau TIGERweb County, place, school-district, ZIP and legislative-district boundaries.
- unitedstates/congress-legislators U.S. House roster (CC0).
- Open States Oklahoma Senate and Oklahoma House roster.
- USGS The National Map Police, fire and EMS stations and post offices (public domain).
The layer matrix
17 layers — 7 political and legislative, 2 public safety, 2 schools, 6 geography and amenities. Each row names the publisher the boundary comes from, where the names on the card come from, and the ground the layer actually answers on — outside that ground the layer hides itself rather than guessing.
Political & legislative 7 layers
Districts that elect somebody — from your ward to your seat in Congress.
| Layer | What it answers | Boundary source | Who it names | Where it applies |
|---|---|---|---|---|
U.S. Houseus-house |
The U.S. House district covering the point, and the representative holding it. | congress-roster.json, rebuilt weekly by CI from the public-domain unitedstates/congress-legislators dataset — including each member's district office and Washington office. | Oklahoma — statewide, all 5 districts. | |
Judicial Districtok-judicial-district |
The judicial district covering the point, its district judge offices and the counties whose voters elect each one. | No judge is named yet; recorded as gap ok-judicial-district-judges. The roster names each judge beside their home town, which this project never copies. The card links the roster. | Oklahoma — statewide, all 77 counties. | |
Oklahoma Senate Districtok-senate |
The Oklahoma Senate district covering the point, and the senator holding it. | ok-senate-members.json, rebuilt weekly by CI from the Open States current-people export for Oklahoma (name, party, e-mail, the member's own page). The export carries no capitol office or telephone for any member; reading those from the Senate's own site is recorded in ok/WATCH.md. | Oklahoma — statewide, all 48 districts. | |
Oklahoma House Districtok-house |
The Oklahoma House district covering the point, and the representative holding it. | ok-house-members.json, rebuilt weekly by CI from the Open States current-people export for Oklahoma. | Oklahoma — statewide, all 101 districts. | |
County Commissioner Districtcounty-commissioner |
Which of the county's three commissioner districts covers the point, and the commissioner the State Election Board lists for it. | ok-county-commissioners.json, from the Oklahoma State Election Board's Roster of State and County Officers (the 2024 edition: 229 named, 2 listed vacant), rebuilt weekly by CI, which picks up a newer edition the week it is posted. Home towns printed in the roster are not carried. | Oklahoma — statewide, all 231 districts in 77 counties. | |
Tribal Governmenttribal-government |
Whether this address is in a tribal area the Census draws, and which nation's government (or nations' governments) it names — 31 areas across 33 nations, most of them Oklahoma Tribal Statistical Areas, which the card says are drawn to count people and are not legal boundaries. | Nobody yet: no Oklahoma nation's council list has been read, and the card says so. The government, its seat and its website come from the Bureau of Indian Affairs' tribal leaders directory (data/bia-tribal-governments.json); the land is joined to the government by this project's own data/tribal-government-join.json. | Most of Oklahoma. The Census draws a tribal area over most of the state; the western Panhandle and parts of the north and west lie outside every one. | |
City Council Districtcity-ward |
The city council ward or district containing the point, in the 9 Oklahoma cities above 25,000 people whose wards elect their own members and are drawn, and the member or members for it. |
|
The member or members for each ward, from the same city council roster the City or Town card reads (ok/data/app/ok-city-councils.json), written down from each city's own pages and proved against them by ok/scripts/build_ok_city_councils.py. Which seats a ward elects was read from each city's charter, its own pages, a county election board's results or news reports. Its check holds every drawn ward to a seat its voters elect and every such seat to a drawn ward. Bartlesville's and Bixby's councils choose the mayor from among their members, and the card names the mayor as the member for the ward that elected them. | The 9 Oklahoma cities above 25,000 people whose wards elect their own members and are drawn: Bartlesville, Bixby, Enid, Midwest City, Moore, Norman, Oklahoma City, Shawnee and Tulsa. Lawton's and Muskogee's wards elect their own members and are not drawn yet; Broken Arrow, Owasso, Jenks and Edmond tie seats to wards and elect every seat by the whole city, and Stillwater's council has no wards. Ground inside a city's Census outline that its map leaves out lies in no ward here. |
Public safety 2 layers
Who answers a call at this address, and where they answer it from.
| Layer | What it answers | Boundary source | Who it names | Where it applies |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Police Stationpolice-station |
The three nearest police stations to the point, by straight-line distance, with each one's address. | NO OFFICEHOLDER, AND NONE IS MISSING: a police station is a facility, not an elected district. Nobody is elected from one. | Oklahoma — plus the border strip its envelope necessarily includes. A BUILDING, NOT A JURISDICTION: which agency answers at a given point is a service-area question this instance has not been researched for, so the card says where the nearest are and never who serves you. Nearest-three is a proximity fact, so for a reader near the state line the nearest one really may be in a neighbouring state, and the card's intro says these are straight-line distances. | |
Fire & EMS Stationfire-station |
The three nearest fire and EMS stations to the point, by straight-line distance, with each one's address. | NO OFFICEHOLDER, AND NONE IS MISSING: a fire and EMS station is a facility, not an elected district. |
Schools 2 layers
The district, the attendance zone, and the schools nearest the point.
| Layer | What it answers | Boundary source | Who it names | Where it applies |
|---|---|---|---|---|
School District (Unified)school-district-unified |
The public school district covering the point. | NO OFFICEHOLDER, AND THE CARD NAMES THE DISTRICT ONLY. Oklahoma's school boards are elected, and no statewide roster of their members was established in this pass — recorded as gap ok-school-board-members. | Oklahoma — every point outside the 91 elementary districts. The two tilings partition the state: their Census land areas sum to exactly the 77-county total, measured 2026-10-09. TIGERweb's secondary tiling is empty for Oklahoma (0 features). | |
School District (Elementary)school-district-elementary |
The elementary school district covering the point, where the point is in one. | NO OFFICEHOLDER, AND THE CARD NAMES THE DISTRICT ONLY. Oklahoma's school boards are elected, and no statewide roster of their members was established in this pass — recorded as gap ok-school-board-members. | Oklahoma — the 91 elementary districts, 11,441 km2 of land between them. Everywhere else the unified card is the answer. |
Geography & amenities 6 layers
The boundaries that place an address without electing anyone, plus the nearest public services.
| Layer | What it answers | Boundary source | Who it names | Where it applies |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Countycounty |
Which county contains the point. | ok-county-commissioners.json, from the Oklahoma State Election Board's Roster of State and County Officers (the 2024 edition, compiled after the November 5, 2024 general election), rebuilt weekly by CI. The card lists the county's three commissioners and the county's information telephone line. The roster is a snapshot the counties do not keep current between elections, and the card says so. | Oklahoma — statewide, all 77 counties. | |
Conservation Districtconservation-district |
The conservation district covering the point — the primary local unit of government Oklahoma law makes responsible for conserving the state's renewable natural resources — and the district's office. | Nobody. The Commission's directory of district offices, read by ok/scripts/build_ok_conservation_offices.py, gives each district's office, telephone and e-mail, and the card shows them, credited to the Commission, whose website terms of use allow personal, non-commercial use of its content. The directory names none of a district's five directors, so the card names no one and says how the board is chosen. | Oklahoma — statewide; the 84 districts cover the state bar 67 km2 of slivers, most of them along the Kansas line in Texas County. | |
Census County Divisioncounty-subdivision |
The census county division containing the point, and its county. | NO OFFICEHOLDER. A census county division is an area the Census Bureau draws to report its counts: no one is elected from it, and Oklahoma has no township governments, so the county governs everyone outside a city or town. The card names the division and its county and says it governs nobody. | Oklahoma — statewide. | |
ZIP Codezip-code |
The ZIP Code Tabulation Area covering the point — the Census Bureau's areal approximation of the USPS delivery routes sharing a ZIP code, not a postal boundary. | NO OFFICEHOLDER, AND NONE IS MISSING: a ZIP code is a mail-routing convenience, not a unit of government, so nobody is elected from one. The card says what the boundary actually is rather than leaving a reader to assume it means more. | Oklahoma. The layer is hidden outside the state outline, because outside it the Census's point query answers with a neighbouring state's real ZIP code (Wichita Falls TX gives 76301). | |
City or Townmunicipality |
The city or town containing the point, if any. | In the 16 cities above 25,000 people, the mayor and every council member or commissioner, written down from each city's own pages and proved against those pages by ok/scripts/build_ok_city_councils.py, which fails when a name is no longer on the page it cites (ok/data/app/ok-city-councils.json). Where the page a seat cites prints an e-mail address or a telephone number beside that member alone, the card shows it, and the build proves it on that page in the same way; a line or mailbox the page gives the office or several members is not shown, and no street address is. Muskogee's website does not let this app read it, so its names come from the county election board's official results for February 10, 2026 and from news reports, and the card says so. Each seat says whether its ward's own voters or the whole city elect it, read from each city's charter, its own pages, a county election board's results or news reports, because nothing the state publishes records it. Oklahoma's other cities and towns name nobody yet, recorded as gap ok-municipal-officeholders. | Oklahoma — statewide. A point outside every city and town is unincorporated, which the card states. | |
Post Officepost-office |
The three nearest post offices to the point, by straight-line distance, with each one's address. | NO OFFICEHOLDER, AND NONE IS MISSING: a post office is a facility, not an elected district. |
