Wisconsin runs 69 circuit courts over its 72 counties, and 261 judges sit in them. A circuit is the trial court for nearly everything — felonies, small claims, divorce, probate, traffic — and which one covers an address is a question of which county it is in, not which city.

What the lookup shows

A circuit is counties, not lines on a map

No agency publishes circuit geometry, and this map never draws a boundary no agency publishes. Every circuit here is a union of whole counties taken from the Census Bureau's own county file, composed under two witnesses that agree exactly: the statute that establishes the circuits, and the court system's own circuit listing. Buffalo and Pepin, Florence and Forest and Menominee and Shawano cover more than one county; the rest are one county each.

Where the names come from

The bench is re-read on a schedule from the state court system's own judges table and enriched with each judge's branch and direct telephone from its contact directory, landing as a reviewed pull request. No e-mail address ships because the court system publishes none. A circuit whose roster comes back empty degrades to the circuit and a link to the directory — never to an invented name.

The map above reads the same roster, so a card and this table cannot disagree — but a table is a claim about a day, and this one names its day.
